The first National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) trade involving allocation money has been completed. In the deal, the Utah Royals acquire the eight overall pick in the 2020 NWLS College Draft from the Chicago Red Stars in exchange for allocation money. The amount of allocation money, however, has not be disclosed per league policy.
The Utah Royals FC selected three players in the 2020 National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) College Draft: forward/midfielder Tziarra King (North Carolina State) at No. 8; midfielder Kate Del Fava (Illinois State) at No. 12; and forward Cyera Hintzen (Texas) at No. 31.
The long-awaited URFC home opener on Saturday also served as the team’s season debut in the National Women’s Soccer League’s seventh season. The turnout, as well as the pre- and post-game festivities, was, in true Utah fashion, sensational for a team still finding its footing in its second season.
