Defender Gina Lewandowski re-signed with Sky Blue FC for the 2020 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) season. The contract includes a one-year option following the season.
Lewandowski entered the NWSL in 2019 after spending the majority of her professional career in Germany’s Bundesliga with 1. FFC Frankfurt and FC Bayern Munich. With Frankfurt, Lewandowski won the treble in 2007 (league title, DFB Cup, and the UEFA Women’s Cup, the precursor to Champions League) and another DFB Cup winner in 2011. With Bayern, she won back-to-back league titles in 2015 and 2016.
In 2019, she made 13 appearances for Sky Blue with 12 starts.
The Pennsylvania native played collegiately for Lehigh University.
