The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) has released its 2018 schedule as the league prepares to enter its sixth season. The regular season opens on Saturday, March 24, 2018, in North Carolina in a rematch of the 2017 NWSL Championship game with runners-up Courage hosting the Thorns in Lifetime’s Game of the Week.
The regular season runs through September with the final day of regular-season play ending on September 8.
With the Boston Breakers folding, the league has been reduced to nine teams and this year’s schedule reflects that with several midweek games.
New kids on the block Utah Royals FC open up their inaugural season on the road against Orlando on March 24, and open up at home at Rio Tinto Stadium on April 14.
The league will not play during the weekend of April 7–8 due to the April 2–10 FIFA window. During subsequent FIFA windows (June 4–12 and August 27–September 4), only the following matches will be played:
June 8: Sky Blue FC vs. Washington Spirit;
September 1: Washington Spirit vs. Sky Blue FC
Each club will play 24 regular-season games (12 home, 12 away) in a single table. Teams will face each other three times.
The top four teams in the table advance to the semifinals to be played during the weekend of September 14–16. The NWSL Championship will be held on Saturday, September 22, at a venue to be announced later.

Lifetime will air 20 matches as part of the NWSL Game of the Week broadcast. The remaining games will be livestreamed on the go90 app and website for supporters in the United States, while international fans can watch games on the NWSL app and nwslsoccer.com.
