Injury plagued Brazil, already without Cristiane, who injured her shoulder Thursday, Dec. 9, in the first round of the Torneio Internacional Cidade de São Paulo, suffered another injury setback. Starting forward Grazielle (Santos FC) injured her knee Wednesday night against Canada in the final game of the group stage. Canada plays Brazil Sunday in the finals of the Torneio Internacional Cidade de São Paulo. Grazielle will have an MRI on her knee to determine if she will need surgery. Back in November at the South American Championships in Ecuador, Leah tore her ACL, missed the rest of the qualifiers, and will not be back in time for the World Cup. Cristiane’s MRI came back negative, and she should be back in action in two months.
