FIFA announced the latest Women’s World Rankings this morning, and although the top three remained unchanged (U.S., Germany, Brazil), Japan and Canada made history. The Japanese women’s team moved up to No. 4, its highest-ever FIFA World Ranking, while the Canadians jumped three spots to No. 6, its highest ranking.
Sweden dropped one spot to No. 5. Other movements in the top 10 included France moving up one spot to No. 7. Korea DPR fell two to No. 8, and Norway dropped two spots to No. 9. England remained idle at No. 10.
Argentina dropped five places, down to No. 33, and Jordan fell five positions, sliding to No. 57. The Faroe Islands suffered the biggest slide, dropping 10 spots to No. 79. The biggest advancements came from Cameroon and Tunisia. Both teams jumped six positions to No. 66 and No. 76, respectively.
