Pitea IF got four goals from Fiona O’Sullivan, three goals and two assists from Jennifer Nobis, and a shutout by Canadian keeper Stephanie Labbe in Friday’s 9-0 win over Lulea DFC, and Nobis added one more in Pitea’s 3-1 win Saturday over Sunnanå. If Pitea, promoted this year to Damallsvenskan, beats Umeå IK Sunday, the team will win the Allstar Midwinter Cup.

Nobis, played in 2009 for the Boston Breakers of Women’s Professional Soccer before missing the 2010 season with a torn ACL. O’Sullivan (featured in the October 2010 issue of Our Game Magazine, Irish Eyes Are Smiling) had a breakout year with Ireland’s Women’s National Team. She scored five goals in six games during World Cup qualifiers. When she wasn’t training or playing for Ireland last year, O’Sullivan played for AIK in Damallsvenskan. Labbe, meanwhile, flew out to Rome Saturday to join the Canadian Women’s National Team, which is training for the upcoming Cyprus Cup.
